Looking back at the picture on the left, when she was just 16-years-old, she claims she used to have been "ashamed" of her body and often felt "heavy or fat."
Now though, she's developed total body confidence, as we can clearly see from her proud, gorgeous posing on this year's red carpet.
Speaking to Access Hollywood, Demi said: "The very first time that I ever went to the VMAs and I just looked so bony and fragile and unhappy. Yes, I was at the VMAs and I was 16 and I was having an incredible time, but at the same time I was miserable."
"I look back at that and I think you know what, I may have been thinner, but I am so happy that I am healthy today and I have curves which are a lot more sexier than what I was aiming for," she continued, "I think curves are beautiful and I feel great."
Kardashian Kurves
Interestingly, Demi claims she owes a lot of her newly found self-assurance to...the Kardashian sisters!
"I really credit women like Kim Kardashian… [she] completely revolutionised what our generation's perception is of what's beautiful."
"You can think whatever you want about the Kardashians, but they really did help tons of women feel comfortable in their own skin and I like to carry that message on," Demi finished.Kendall Drama
But, where the Kardashian name sounds, there's sure to be drama.
Just as Kim is praised by some, others don't seem to find the association too favourable.
Recently, in Rumoursville, word has been circling that Kim's younger sister Kendall is trying to distance herself from the Kardashian clan, as she feels they could harm her burgeoning modelling career.
In latest news, we've discovered that Kendall has opted to drop her famous surname from her portfolio and resume, for while she might be a Jenner, the name is still associated with the Kardashian brand.
On The Society's model management pages, Kendall is the only one listed by just her first name, which looks a bit odd.
So what does this tell us?
Well, unfortunately it probably indicates that while Kim, Khloe and Kourtney are popularising a more realistic, achievable body ideal, when it comes to the world of high fashion, a different aesthetic still reins supreme.
And Kendall feels pushed to distance herself from this more normal, "relatable" image, in order to succeed as a fashion model.
Either that, or Kendall literally just doesn't want to be associated with her family any more, which would be quite sad, so we hope that's not true.
